Uruguayan Gianina García Troche, charged in the framework of Operation A Ultranza, gave her second investigative statement on May 12 at the “Martín Mendoza” Social Reintegration Penitentiary Center in Emboscada. Anti-drug prosecutor Deny Yoon Pak traveled to the location for security reasons, considering the profile of the accused.
The proceeding was requested by the defense lawyers of García Troche, partner of fellow Uruguayan Sebastián Enrique Marset Cabrera (35), arrested in March in Santa Cruz de la Sierra and later extradited to the United States, where he faces trial.
The representative of the Public Prosecutor's Office took the statement in compliance with Article 350 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which requires a hearing before any formal accusation. The second statement was based on elements obtained after the first testimony, on October 13, 2025, and the prosecutor applied the principle of procedural equality, since the other defendants also had the same opportunity.
The Public Prosecutor's Office has until May 20 to present its conclusive request, and may accuse García Troche or seek another solution for the case.
According to the complaint filed on February 22, 2022, García Troche allegedly created the company “Grupo San Jorge SA”, trade name “Total Cars”, on May 3, 2021, with capital of G. 1,000,000,000. She held a 75% stake as president, and Alexis Vidal González Zárate held 25% as vice president. The company would have been used to open an account at Banco Visão, using a supposedly false work certificate, which indicated that she was the owner of a Volvo truck with license plate BCR 701, authorized by the carrier “Kuarahy SRL” for international freight to Mercosur, with monthly earnings of US$ 7,500.
The accusation maintains that García Troche, to secure the benefits obtained by Marset from international cocaine trafficking, created the company and opened the bank account with the aim of inserting resources of illicit origin into the national financial system, simulating lawful activities.
