The Criminal Guarantees Court of the Third Shift of Curuguaty, under Judge Marcos Giménez, ordered the pretrial detention of José Domingo Duré, recently arrested in the district of Yasy Cañy. The decision was formalized in a judicial order issued on May 16, which also rejected the request for alternative measures presented by the defendant's defense.

Duré will answer for alleged crimes of invasion of another's property, criminal association, violation of the Weapons Law, and attempted intentional homicide, in a case involving multiple defendants. With the measure, he will be transferred to the Regional Penitentiary of Coronel Oviedo, where he will remain at the disposal of the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The arrest occurred during a preventive check carried out by agents of the 13th Police Station of Yasy Cañy, in the San Miguel neighborhood. According to the police report, verification of data in the computerized system revealed that Duré had an outstanding arrest warrant.

The case is linked to the conflict in the Edilson Mercado settlement, also in Yasy Cañy, where authorities are investigating irregular property occupations and other related crimes.
