Intense cold marks the start of the week in Paraguay with lows below 10°C

The Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology forecasts a cold week in Paraguay, with minimum temperatures between 9°C and 12°C and highs not exceeding 19°C. Isolated rain is expected only in the Chaco and northern Eastern Region.

The cold has returned with force to Paraguay. This Monday (18), the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) recorded 13°C in Asunción before dawn, and the forecast highs for the capital do not exceed 17°C. In Encarnación, the high will be 17°C; in Ciudad del Este, 18°C; and in the Chaco, up to 18°C. Lows range between 9°C and 12°C nationwide.

The sky remains mostly cloudy, with winds blowing from the south. Although most of the territory is not expected to record rain or electrical storms, there is a possibility of scattered precipitation in some areas of the Chaco and northern Eastern Region. The DMH does not forecast rain for Tuesday or Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to drop further in the coming days. On Tuesday, the high in Asunción will be 19°C and the low 9°C. On Wednesday, the low could reach 8°C, consolidating the period of intense cold that has set in across the country.
