On May 12, prosecutor Deny Yoon Pak went to the maximum-security prison in Emboscada to take the statement of Gianina García Troche, partner and mother of the children of Uruguayan trafficker Sebastián Marset. This is the second time García has given an investigative statement within the framework of Operativo A Ultranza Paraguay, which investigates a money laundering network from drug trafficking.
The Deputy Minister of Criminal Policy of the Ministry of Justice, Rubén Maciel Guerreño, confirmed the prosecutor's presence at the prison unit. The first hearing took place in October 2025 at the Viñas Cué military prison, where García was initially detained. She is currently serving a special detention regime at the Emboscada prison, in a maximum-security wing.
The investigation against García Troche is in its final phase: prosecutors have until May 20 to present the conclusive request. Options include formal indictment, dismissal, or suspension of the process. The Uruguayan is accused of involvement with companies allegedly created to sustain the criminal organization led by Marset.
