Reading Club 'Voces Femeninas' Brings Together Paraguayan and German Authors in Asunción

The Paraguayan-German Cultural Institute (ICPA) launches the reading club 'Voces Femeninas', coordinated by writer Estela Asilvera, with free meetings starting May 18. The initiative promotes contemporary literature by six Paraguayan and German authors, with biweekly sessions in Spanish.

The Paraguayan-German Cultural Institute – Goethe-Zentrum, in Asunción, starts next Monday, May 18, the reading club “Voces Femeninas”. The activity, free and open to the public, will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM at the institute's headquarters, located at Juan de Salazar 310, corner with Avenida Artigas.

Coordinated by Paraguayan writer Estela Asilvera, the club proposes biweekly meetings for reading and cultural exchange, focusing on contemporary works by Paraguayan and German women that have less diffusion in the publishing market. Readings and discussions will be held in Spanish.

The program includes six authors: from Paraguay, Luz Saldívar, Liz Haedo, and Norma Flores Allende; from Germany, Juli Zeh, Jenny Erpenbeck, and Sibylle Berg. In sessions dedicated to Paraguayan writers, the in-person participation of the authors is planned.
