Paraguay's Ministry of Justice confirmed this Sunday (17) the successful conclusion of Operation Umbral 2.5, which transferred women deprived of liberty to the Emboscada prison. The operation proceeded without altercations, with security protocols and respect for human rights. A press conference is scheduled for Monday to detail the results.

The Ministry of Justice reported this Sunday (17) that Operation Umbral 2.5 was successfully concluded, with no incidents recorded. The operation involved the transfer of women deprived of liberty (WDL) to the Emboscada penitentiary complex, under a strong institutional security scheme.

According to an official statement, the procedure followed international security and human rights protocols, ensuring an orderly, safe, and dignified transfer for the inmates. Authorities issued a message of reassurance to family members, ensuring that official channels will remain active to provide ongoing information.

The operation involved the joint participation of various state security institutions and health professionals, who provided logistical and medical support during the transfer stages. Although the Ministry classified the action as a strategic success, specific data on the prisons of origin and destination, as well as the exact number of inmates transferred, remain temporarily confidential.

To detail the scope and definitive results, the main authorities of the Ministry of Justice have called an official press conference for this Monday (18). On that occasion, questions will be answered regarding the new distribution of the female prison population and the objectives of the mobilization.
