Paraguay's Exports Surge 14.6% to Over $6.2 Billion in First Four Months

Paraguay's total exports reached $6.2059 billion in the first four months of 2026, a 14.6% increase year-on-year, driven by strong growth in primary products and industrial manufactures, while beef exports declined.

Paraguay's export sector posted robust growth in the first four months of 2026, with total exports reaching $6.2059 billion, a 14.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the Central Bank of Paraguay's Foreign Trade Report, as reported by El Nacional.

The trade balance remained in surplus, exceeding $80 million. Registered exports accounted for 68.2% of total shipments, valued at $4.2304 billion, up 18.1% from April 2025. Primary products led with $1.7764 billion, followed by industrial manufactures at $1.4283 billion.

Soybean exports surged 43.2% to $1.5101 billion, while wheat also posted gains. Re-exports, representing 27% of total exports, rose 9.3% to $1.6773 billion.

However, beef exports (excluding offal) fell 11.1% to $577.2 million, with Chile, the United States, and Israel as top markets. In contrast, pork exports jumped 62.6% to $18.8 million, mainly to Taiwan, and poultry exports (excluding offal) increased 11.4% to $4.4 million, with Iraq and Vietnam as key destinations.

Industrial manufactures rose 32.1% to $733.4 million, driven by copper waste, electrical conductors, and insecticides. Maquila exports grew 29.7% to $469.8 million, primarily to Brazil, Argentina, the United States, and the Netherlands. Fuel and energy exports declined to $292.2 million.

Total imports reached $6.1217 billion, up 12.2%, resulting in a trade surplus of $84.2 million.
