Gianina García Troche, partner of alleged drug trafficker Sebastián Marset, requested this week the benefit of house arrest to be able to stay close to her children while responding to the judicial process. The request was made during her indictment statement on May 12, before prosecutor Deny Yoon Pak, as informed by one of her defense attorneys, Luis Samaniego.

Samaniego explained that the request was presented with the aim that the defendant can remain close to her children while the investigation proceeds. The prosecutor communicated that the demand will be analyzed and subsequently consulted with Judge Rosarito Montanía, who will decide on the request.

García Troche is charged in the framework of Operation A Ultranza Paraguay, which investigates a structure allegedly dedicated to money laundering from drug trafficking and supposedly led by Marset. According to the fiscal investigation, the woman allegedly participated in the creation and administration of companies used as part of the illicit scheme. However, during her statement, she denied any connection with the investigated firms and stated she was unaware of her alleged involvement in the facts.

Currently, García Troche is incarcerated in Emboscada prison.
