Former IPS President Jorge Brítez's Assets Grow to Over G. 32.5 Billion

A sworn declaration submitted to the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic shows that the assets of Jorge Brítez, former president of the Social Security Institute (IPS), increased by more than G. 682 million during his term, ending with 19 properties and a net worth exceeding G. 32.5 billion.

The former president of the Social Security Institute (IPS), Jorge Brítez, ended his term in April 2026 with a declared net worth of G. 32,564,111,000, according to open data from the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR). The amount represents an increase of G. 682,100,000 compared to the 2023 declaration, when assets were G. 31,882,011,000.

Brítez, who resigned from the presidency of the pension institute in April, saw his bank balances grow from G. 641 million in 2023 to G. 791 million in 2026. The latest declaration also no longer includes a G. 30 million loan to a family member, indicating the debt was paid off.

The number of declared properties rose from 17 to 19. In 2023, Brítez owned 12 plots of land in Luque, inherited from his spouse, and five other properties. Now, properties in Mariano Roque Alonso and San Bernardino have been added, raising the total value of real estate from G. 25,731 million to G. 28,631 million.

In vehicle assets, the value increased from G. 850 million to G. 1,050 million. Among the changes, Brítez replaced a 2013 Mercedes-Benz pickup truck with another of the same brand, 2022 model.

Brítez maintained the declaration of 200 head of cattle, valued at G. 600 million. His declared monthly expenses fell from G. 28.5 million in 2023 to G. 25 million in 2026, while reported monthly income decreased from G. 86 million to G. 55.3 million. In the latest declaration, he added an additional monthly income of G. 5 million.
