Pavo Real Py II Case: Alexandre Rodrigues Gomes to Face Oral Trial from June 3

The Specialized Court for Organized Crime has set June 3, 2026, as the start date for the oral trial of Alexandre Rodrigues Gomes, accused of international drug trafficking, money laundering, and criminal association. The defendant was arrested in August 2024, on the same day his father, Congressman Eulalio “Lalo” Gomes, died in a confrontation with police during simultaneous operations.

The Specialized Court for Organized Crime, presided over by María Luz Martínez and composed of Dina Marchuk and Federico Rojas, has scheduled the start of the oral and public trial of Alexandre Rodrigues Gomes for June 3, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., as part of Operation Pavo Real Py II.

Rodrigues Gomes was indicted by prosecutors Andrés Arriola and Ingrid Cubilla, from the Specialized Unit against Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime, for the crimes of international drug trafficking, money laundering from drug trafficking, and criminal association.

The defendant was arrested on August 19, 2024, during simultaneous operations coordinated by prosecutors Osmar Segovia, Ingrid Cubilla, and Elva Cáceres. On the same date, his father, Colorado Party congressman Eulalio “Lalo” Gomes, died in a confrontation with police officers who were executing search and seizure warrants.
