Families and students joined the ecological drive organized by the Embassy of Taiwan on Asunción's Costanera this weekend. The activity brought together dozens of people, including members of the Taiwanese community and students from the Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University, in cleanup tasks and awareness-raising about the preservation of public spaces.
The effort aimed to strengthen the commitment to the environment and, at the same time, highlight the importance of Taiwan being able to contribute its experience and cooperation on health issues in the international arena. “Cleaning the Costanera was a very good experience. We have to take better care of our environment, for our future children and for the animals. We need to clean more,” said young participant Ariel Delgadillo.
The initiative also had the support of scholarship holders and volunteers, who collected waste along the public promenade on the banks of the Paraguay River. The embassy reiterated the call for greater participation of Taiwan in multilateral bodies, especially in the area of global health.
