Senator Samaniego demands audit of voting machines for Colorado internal elections

Senator Lilian Samaniego, from the Causa Republicana movement, publicly asked the president of the Colorado Party, Horacio Cartes, and the president of the Party Electoral Tribunal, Santiago Brizuela, to carry out the audit of the voting machines before the internal elections on June 7, arguing that the procedure, scheduled for February, was not fulfilled and is essential to guarantee transparency and equal opportunities.

Senator Lilian Samaniego, leader of the Causa Republicana movement within the National Republican Association (ANR), demanded this Monday the completion of an audit of the voting machines to be used in the party's internal elections, scheduled for June 7. In a video released on social media, she directly addressed the president of the Colorado Party, Horacio Cartes, and the president of the Party Electoral Tribunal, Santiago Brizuela.

“I ask the president of the Colorado Party, Horacio Cartes, and the president of the Independent Tribunal of the party, Santiago Brizuela, that the audit of the voting machines be carried out. This was scheduled for February of this year and has not been done so far,” said Samaniego.

The parliamentarian highlighted that several internal movements of the ANR have already formally requested the Party Electoral Tribunal to promote the technical verification procedure of the equipment. According to her, the audit is necessary to ensure equitable conditions in the party dispute and strengthen the credibility of the electoral process.

“It must be carried out because it guarantees equal opportunities, transparency, and legitimacy that will allow achieving unity in diversity, as our party needs to emerge stronger,” she declared.

Samaniego added that a transparent audit will help reaffirm the ANR's historical prominence in the national political scene. “This will demonstrate that the Colorado Party continues to be the most important political force in our country's democracy,” she concluded.
