The Ministry of Childhood and Adolescence (Minna) reported that, in April 2026, the 147 Fono Ayuda hotline received 578 calls that alerted about 1,110 children and adolescents in vulnerable situations across Paraguay. A single report may involve more than one affected person and different types of rights violations.
Of the calls received, 249 were made by family members, 140 by community agents, and 27 by the minors themselves. The main violations reported were: failure to fulfill the duty of care (459 cases), mistreatment (406), social risk (192), street situation (125), and alleged sexual abuse (102).
Geographically, the Central department concentrated the highest number of cases (266), followed by Asunción (113) and Itapúa (38). The lowest records occurred in Alto Paraguay and Boquerón, with one case each.
Minna reported that all cases were forwarded to institutions of the protection system, such as the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Public Defender's Office, and CODENI. The ministry also reiterated the request for the population to report any situation of rights violations through the 147 hotline.
