A 16-year-old teenager died on Sunday night (18) after losing control of his motorcycle and colliding with a guardrail on Route PY02, in the municipality of J. Eulogio Estigarribia, Caaguazú Department. The body was found about 40 meters from the impact site, indicating high speed at the time of the accident.
Commissioner Rubén Franco, head of the local police, reported that the young man was traveling east when locals alerted authorities to the incident. Volunteer firefighters were called and confirmed the death at the scene. “The motorcycle was 40 meters away, which shows he was traveling at high speed,” Franco said.
The National Police does not rule out that the teenager was participating in illegal street races or dangerous maneuvers, a common practice in the region on Sundays. The case remains under investigation.
