Cerro Porteño coach Ariel Holan did not hide his frustration after the defeat to Sportivo Trinidense in the penultimate round of the Torneo Apertura. In statements after the match, Holan said the team needs to turn the page and focus on the Copa Sudamericana.

“Let the championship end as quickly as possible,” said the coach, visibly dissatisfied with the team's performance. The statement reflects the difficult moment for Ciclón, which is still fighting for second place in the local tournament.

In the same round, Nacional also plays simultaneously, and both clubs are seeking to decide who will finish second. Cerro Porteño faced Sportivo Trinidense at the Luis Alfonso Giagni stadium at 5:00 PM, with local officiating.

Meanwhile, Olimpia, already champion of the Apertura, achieved a dramatic victory over Recoleta in a match that served as preparation for the Copa Sudamericana clash. Decano had secured the title three rounds earlier.

At the start of the penultimate round, Libertad hosted Sportivo 2 de Mayo at the La Huerta de Tuyucuá stadium, also at 5:00 PM, in a match that marked the Independence Day holiday.
