Around 120,000 people filled the Historic Center of Asunción during the celebrations of the 215th anniversary of National Independence, according to data released by the Office of the First Lady. The program included cultural performances, shows, food fairs, crafts, and historical reenactments, with emphasis on the Palmear Fair, held on Calle Palma and at the Cabildo.
The event, which lasted until dawn, featured children's spaces, citizen activations, and intense commercial activity in the area. Families, young people, and visitors occupied the emblematic spots of the Paraguayan capital in a celebration that united art, music, and patriotic pride.
The agenda was organized by the Office of the First Lady, in partnership with the Government of Paraguay, the Municipality of Asunción, the Association of the Movida of the Historic Center of Asunción (AMCHA), and the Asunción 500 Years Commission, as well as public institutions and the private sector. Activities are expected to continue in the coming days with new cultural and citizen proposals at different points in the Historic Center.
