In the early hours of this Monday (18), the Conesul laundry, owned by businesswoman Lucía Morel Alves, was targeted by gunfire in Pedro Juan Caballero, Amambay Department. This is the second armed attack against the merchant's interests in less than 72 hours.
According to the National Police, around 3 a.m., unknown individuals fired several shots at the establishment and left a threatening note written in Portuguese. The note reportedly read: “This is the second warning; on the third, you will roll one by one.”
The first attack occurred on Saturday (16), around 11:50 p.m., at the corner of Aquidabán and Rubio Ñu streets, against the Pax Conesul funeral home, also owned by Lucía Morel Alves, who resides in the same building. On that occasion, a man on a motorcycle fired multiple times at the building's facade and fled. Police collected 13 spent shell casings at the scene.
The businesswoman came out of the building after hearing the shots and observed the damage to the main entrance. The National Police opened an investigation to determine the context of the persecution against Lucía Morel Alves and her businesses.
