In the early hours of Monday, May 18, 2026, Lavadero Conesul, located at the corner of Luis Ferraro and Arroyo Piky streets in the María Victoria neighborhood of Pedro Juan Caballero, was the target of a shooting attack. Unknown individuals fired several 9mm pistol shots at the establishment's gate and then fled.
Before leaving the scene, the perpetrators left a handwritten note in Portuguese with a threatening tone: “2do aviso o 3ro voceis vaõ rodar 1x1 o bagullo chegou e o pix nao - o crime.” The message suggests the attack may be related to an unpaid debt, a hypothesis being investigated by the National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The incident occurs two days after the Pax Conesul funeral home, also owned by 35-year-old Lucía Morel Alves, was targeted by gunfire. Both establishments belong to the same businesswoman, according to local information.
Authorities have not yet confirmed a link between the two attacks, but the repeated pattern—gunfire and a collection note—raises suspicions that the motive is financial. The investigation is ongoing.
