The messages, sent via SMS to random numbers, promise a payment of G. 600,000 and include a link ending in .org, which redirects to malicious pages. The government reminds that official websites use the .gov.py domain and that there is no active program with that name.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health reports that 806,275 doses of the influenza vaccine have already been administered out of a total of 1.5 million available doses. The vaccine protects against strains A (H1N1), A (H3N2), and B, and is especially recommended for children and the elderly. For people aged 60 and over, the Pneumococcal 23 vaccine, which prevents pneumonia and meningitis, is also available. Vaccination posts in Asunción include the vaccination center of the 18th Health Region, on Brasil Street near Fulgencio R. Moreno, and the Maternal and Child Hospitals of San Pablo, Trinidad, Barrio Obrero, Loma Pytã, and IPS, all operating from 7 am to 5 pm.
In another incident, a traffic accident on Route PY 19 in Villeta resulted in the death of Deolinda Torres de Dick, 67, who was riding pillion on a motorcycle. The driver, Evelin Catalina Pérez (20), lost balance when startled by a truck's horn and fell onto the road. The truck could not brake in time. Both the motorcyclist and the driver, Luis Candia (24), tested negative on the breathalyzer and were unharmed.
