Calle Palma Hosts Second Edition of 'Sem Fronteiras' Cultural Fair with 16 Immigrant Communities

On May 30, Asunción's historic center will host the second edition of the Feria Palmear 'Sem Fronteiras', bringing together 16 foreign communities in a celebration of food, music, and traditional dances, as a preview of National Immigrant Week.

The traditional Calle Palma, in Asunción's microcenter, is preparing to host the second edition of the 'Sem Fronteiras' cultural fair next Saturday, May 30. The event, running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., will bring together 16 foreign communities in a day of integration blending food, music, and traditions from around the world.

The fair, now in its second consecutive year, aims to highlight and recognize the contribution of migrant communities to Paraguay's social and cultural development. Participating countries include Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, South Korea, Lebanon, Taiwan, Italy, Belgium, Croatia, France, Russia, Turkey, and host Paraguay.

Visitors can sample everything from Bolivian salteña empanadas, Brazilian feijoada, Mexican tacos, and Peruvian ceviche to typical Paraguayan dishes such as vori vori, sopa paraguaya, and asado. The cultural program will feature K-Pop demonstrations, Uruguayan candombe, traditional folk dances, and the impressive Taiwanese Lion Dance.

The event serves as a prelude to National Immigrant Week, celebrated annually in the first week of June.
