CEMAP and CNIME hold technical workshop on new maquila regulations in Ciudad del Este

CEMAP and SE CNIME will hold a technical seminar with full registration on May 28, 2026, at the Mangoré Cultural Center in Ciudad del Este to present the new regulations for the maquila regime.

The Chamber of Maquiladora Enterprises of Paraguay (CEMAP) and the Executive Secretariat of the National Council of Export Maquiladora Industries (SE CNIME) will hold a technical workshop on the maquila regime and its new regulations this Thursday, May 28, 2026.

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Exhibition Hall of the Mangoré Cultural Center in Ciudad del Este, Alto Paraná. Open to the public with prior registration, the workshop has already reached full capacity, with an estimated 200 participants.

The agenda will cover key aspects of the new regulations, along with legal, administrative, accounting, and tax guidelines, as well as issues related to formal employment in the sector.

Diego Peyrat, executive secretary of SE CNIME, which is linked to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, stated that the government aims to strengthen the development of the maquila sector in Alto Paraná. Meanwhile, Jorge Bunchicoff, president of CEMAP, highlighted the high demand for the event, noting that all spots were filled several days before the scheduled date.

The workshop is part of the ongoing update to the maquila regime, focused on enhancing its competitiveness and operational efficiency, and will feature participation from national authorities and sector experts.
