Auto body worker shot dead in Pedro Juan Caballero; attack involved about 47 shots

Auto body worker Joaõ Morel, 47, died after being shot in an attack Monday in the María Victoria neighborhood of Pedro Juan Caballero. According to initial information, he was hit by approximately 47 shots.

Morel was rescued and transferred to a hospital in Punta Porã, a neighboring Brazilian city, but did not survive his injuries. Security cameras recorded the moment of the attack and the escape of the suspects, who were in a gray vehicle, possibly a Toyota Allion.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crime. So far, no one has been arrested.
