The Social Security Institute (IPS) issued an alert about a fake Instagram account posing as Dr. Derlis León, the institution's health manager. The profile, identified as Dr_Derlisleon, uses the official IPS account and provides a direct link to a WhatsApp number, which may pose a risk of fraud or data theft.
The IPS recommends that policyholders do not reply to messages, do not share personal information, and especially do not make financial transfers. The institution emphasizes that it communicates exclusively through official channels, not through employee profiles or supposed representatives.
On another front, the Ministry of Childhood and Adolescence (MINNA) coordinated an operation in Ciudad del Este, in the department of Alto Paraná, which removed 42 children and adolescents who were spending the night on the streets. The action was triggered after reports and was supported by the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CODENI).
Inspections also took place at strategic points in Itapúa, Villarrica, Caazapá, and Caaguazú, under the PAINI Program, which aims to protect families of indigenous peoples with respect for cultural identity. The children were taken to shelters, and the mothers, in many cases, were formally warned by the Public Defender's Office. In a recurring situation in Alto Paraná, the institutions proceeded with the rescue to ensure the safety of the minors.
The public can report cases of violations of children's and adolescents' rights via the toll-free line 147 Fonoayuda.
