Woman Detained with Crack in Capiatá After Violent Police Operation

A 32-year-old woman was arrested in Capiatá after a police operation that resulted in assaults and the seizure of crack, a precision scale, and other items. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the courts, and the evidence was sent for forensic analysis.

A 32-year-old woman was detained by police in Capiatá, Central Department, after an operation that involved assaults and resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs. The action was motivated by suspicion of violation of Law No. 1,340/88, which criminalizes drug trafficking in Paraguay.

During the approach, a police officer was injured and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. After being subdued, the suspect was taken to the police station.

With the detainee, the agents found a backpack containing several doses of crack ready for sale, an electronic precision scale, cell phones, plastic bags for drug packaging, pills of dubious origin, and a motorcycle license plate. All the material was seized.

The case was immediately reported to the duty prosecutor of the Specialized Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking of the Central Department. The representative of the Public Ministry ordered that the woman remain detained, with freedom of communication, under police custody, at the disposal of the courts. The evidence and the technical report were sent to forensic laboratories for definitive weighing of the drugs.
