Spaniard Álex Palou (Chip Ganassi) took pole position for the 2026 Indianapolis 500 with an average speed of 232.248 mph, saying the result surprised even his own team. The four-time IndyCar champion highlighted the confidence and experience he has gained but cautioned that pole does not guarantee victory in the May 24 race.
