The measure aims to curb so-called "reguladas" and will have an initial three-month phase during peak hours.

Paraguay’s Vice Ministry of Transport (VMT) began issuing fines on Tuesday to public transport operators that do not comply with the Integrated Control and Monitoring System (SICM), which relies on GPS data and electronic ticketing. The move ends the adjustment period that started in January.
