The Hospital General de Itapúa (HGI), inaugurated in July 2025, owes more than nine months of payment to Grupo Belmac SA, the company responsible for providing meals to patients and staff. The company guarantees it will not suspend food for patients but is considering cutting service for employees and doctors.
