A sunflower field in the Cabañas district of Caacupé, located in the María Auxiliadora neighborhood, has become a top Mother's Day attraction, drawing numerous families for a day of nature, flowers, and special moments, according to ABC Color. The field, which opened early on May 15, 2026, will remain accessible to the public through the weekend from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Visitors, including mothers with their children, spouses, and other relatives, spent the day harvesting their own sunflowers, taking photos among the blooms, and enjoying the rural setting. Many used the occasion for family photo sessions, creating lasting memories on the significant date. The field also saw families sharing tereré and strolling through the colorful landscape.
The attraction has become a key option for domestic tourism in the Cordillera department, boosting visits to the Cabañas area and generating local economic activity. Graciela Acuña, from the Cordillera Tourism Secretariat, highlighted the importance of strengthening such initiatives to promote tourism and development in the region.
Yesterday, the site hosted the activity “Cosechá emoción con mamá” (Harvest emotion with mom), where nature, tourism, and love for mothers combined in a colorful, emotional atmosphere. The field, featuring about 8,000 sunflowers, also attracts Instagrammers and photographers.
To reach the field, visitors follow the street of the María Auxiliadora parish and proceed about 200 meters from the Unidad de Salud Familiar II, an area with easy access for tourists and locals. The experience continues to draw families seeking a unique way to honor mothers, filled with color, joy, and unforgettable memories.
