The National Council of Maquila Export Industries (CNIME) reported that exports under the maquila regime totaled US$ 471 million in the first four months of 2026. The figure represents growth compared to the same period last year, with the auto parts sector standing out as the main exporting segment.
Next are apparel and textile products, along with other industrial goods. Brazil remains the main destination for Paraguayan maquila exports, accounting for a large share of shipments.
The maquila regime currently brings together companies from various industrial sectors focused on exports. In addition to trade activity, the sector maintains a significant role in generating formal industrial jobs and expanding manufacturing activities in the country.
