Argentine singer and songwriter Fito Páez presented the short film Todos os Fitos, an audiovisual piece directed by José Fogwill that serves as a conceptual preview of his upcoming album, Shine, scheduled for May 21. The work shows four versions of the artist coexisting in the same space: the Fito of his early days, the one from the Circo Beat phase, the 2014 version, and the current one, in a conversation charged with introspection, memory, and rebirth.
The proposal combines music and cinematic narrative to build a kind of Páez multiverse. In a nocturnal, minimalist room, the different Fitoses dialogue among themselves while the current musician reflects on time, art, and the experiences that marked his life. The concept of circularity permeates the entire work, both in the staging and in the meaning of the album. “Shine is circular, and music is what brought us here,” says the present-day Fito in one of the central passages.
The new album comes after the domestic accident the artist suffered in September 2024, when he fractured nine ribs and had to suspend shows, recordings, and public activities. This experience is portrayed in the short film as a point of emotional and creative rupture. “When you are about to die, the only place left is to be reborn,” the musician says during the work.
In addition to revealing the origin of the title Shine, the short film previews musical elements of the album, including the song Hablame, presented as a symbol of communication and connection between the different phases of his life.
