Paraguayan radio host Gaby Mallorquín, 47, opened up about her role as a mother in an interview published by ABC Color on May 14, 2026, just hours before Mother's Day. Mallorquín, known for hosting Conexión Romance on Cardinal Romance 98.5 FM, described her two children as her “greatest blessing.”
Her first child, Rubén Darío Alvarenga Mallorquín, 24, is an emerging cumbia artist who performs under the name Vinotito. “He is the prince who made me a mother when I was just 22,” Mallorquín told ABC Color. Her second child, Gabriela Natalia Alvarenga Mallorquín, 16, is a high school senior studying arts and letters, and is also a singer and pianist. Mallorquín called her daughter “my accomplice and adventure companion.”
Mallorquín emphasized that she dedicates as much time as possible to her children, calling them “the main motor of my life.” She noted that they share activities such as music, dancing, cooking, and watching movies. “I love being able to love them unconditionally, give them my time, my company, be a present mother,” she said.
Reflecting on their childhood, Mallorquín recalled that despite a seven-year age gap, her children have always been close. “They have always been united, more so when they were little,” she said, adding that they still support each other.
For Mother’s Day, Mallorquín plans to celebrate with her children and her own mother, María Elizabeth Giardina, known as May Giardina, Miss Paraguay 1977. “The Queen Mother cannot be absent on such a special day,” Mallorquín said, describing plans for a restaurant lunch with a show. She praised her mother for teaching her to be brave and for showing her “the most beautiful love in the world.”
Mallorquín concluded with a message to readers: “If you still have your mother, it’s time to hug, ask for forgiveness if necessary, and always show love. Don’t hold anything back in this life.”
