Charred Body Found Inside Burned Car in Cambyretá

A Toyota Auris was found ablaze on Saturday afternoon in Barrero Guazú, a district of Cambyretá, Itapúa. Inside the vehicle, firefighters found a completely charred body. The victim's identity has not yet been confirmed.

A completely burned vehicle with a charred body inside was found on the afternoon of Saturday (17) in the district of Cambyretá, Itapúa department. The case was handled by officers from the 101st Police Station in the San Miguel neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in an area of Barrero Guazú, about 200 meters from Alejandro Pereira Street. According to the police report, the destroyed automobile is a 2006 Toyota Auris, pearl-colored, with license plate NBK 124, registered in the name of Diego Manuel Brítez Báez.

After receiving an alert call about a vehicle fire, police went to the scene and found the car completely in flames. Given the situation, they requested support from the Cambyretá Volunteer Firefighters, who managed to extinguish the fire under the coordination of volunteer Jorge Salas.

Once the fire was controlled, authorities found inside the cabin a completely charred body, whose identity could not yet be confirmed.

According to data provided by the National Police, the vehicle has no theft record and its owner also has no criminal record.

The case was reported to the duty prosecutor, Giovanna Vera, as well as to Criminalistics personnel, who began inspection and evidence collection work. The investigation continues to determine the circumstances of the incident and the victim's identity.
