On May 4, 2026, technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), through the Agricultural Development Center (CDA) of Caazapá – ALAT Fulgencio Yegros, conducted a technical visit to the property of producer Gabriela Maidana Sanabria, a member of the San Isidro Committee, in the San Rafael community, Caazapá department.
During the inspection, the good vegetative state and overall development of the plots of hybrid tomato variety Ferrari F1 and hybrid locote Marselan, both 26 days after transplanting, were verified. However, a mild presence of whitefly was detected in the crops, leading the technicians to issue recommendations for pest management and control to prevent production losses.
As part of the comprehensive follow-up, a nutrition schedule based on the application of nutrient solution was established, aiming to strengthen growth and improve vegetable yield. The technical assistance was conducted by environmental engineer Silvio Villalba Morínigo, who highlighted the importance of constant monitoring and good agricultural practices to ensure efficient and quality production.
With these actions, MAG reinforces the strengthening of family farming through field technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and ongoing support to producers in the country.
