With just over a month until the start of the World Rally Championship in Paraguay, the hotel network in Itapúa is already reporting a 70% occupancy rate reserved for the event period. The information comes from the Itapúa Hotel Association (Ashoit), which also notes a 5% growth in the sector's capacity compared to last year, reaching 6,000 available beds.

The president of Ashoit, Andy Sbardella, highlighted that the experience from the previous edition has allowed for more organized preparation. Unlike in 2025, when about 80% of reservations were handled by agencies linked to the organizers, there is now more direct communication between guests and establishments. The previous measure had been adopted at the request of the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur) due to a lack of experience with large-scale events.

Sbardella recommends that interested parties make reservations in advance, recalling that last year occupancy reached 100% before the competition began. Many hotels are accepting reservations for periods of three to five days.

The 2026 edition of the World Rally Championship in Paraguay will take place from August 27 to 30 in Itapúa, with stages in Encarnación, Cambyretá, Nueva Alborada, Capitán Miranda, Bella Vista, Hohenau, Trinidad, and General Artigas. It will be the longest rally in this year's world championship, with 22 timed sections. Organizers estimate an economic impact of over $200 million and the presence of 400,000 spectators.
