Ride-hailing driver Jorge Aranda, who works for the Bolt platform, experienced an unusual situation on Friday, May 15, when he accepted a duck as payment for a trip in Ypané. Aranda, who also does deliveries, went to work with the goal of saving money to buy a gift for his mother on Mother's Day.
During the trip, Aranda talked with the passenger, who mentioned raising animals in her backyard. The driver then revealed that since childhood he had dreamed of having a duck. At the end of the trip, the passenger asked if she could pay in another way and then went into her house and returned with a duck.
“I said that I once wanted to have a duck and couldn't. When the trip ended, she asked me if she could pay with something else, went into the backyard and came out with a duck,” Aranda said. Far from being upset, he accepted the payment with surprise and joy. “I was super happy, I took the duck and charged that way. It turned out to be a female. My mother is now the owner of the duck,” he added.
Aranda revealed that the family is thinking of a name for the new pet and plans to build a space where it can swim, as well as look for another one to keep it company.
