An unusual story caught attention in Paraguay: ride-hailing driver Jorge Aranda accepted a duck as payment for a trip in the city of Ypané on May 15.

Aranda, who works for the Bolt platform, said he was trying to save money to buy a Mother's Day gift. During the trip, he talked with the passenger, who mentioned raising animals in her backyard. The driver revealed that since childhood, he had dreamed of having a duck.

Upon arrival, the passenger decided to give a duck as part of the payment. Aranda accepted the offer with good humor. “I was super happy, I took the duck and received it like that,” he said, laughing.

The animal, a female, was taken to Aranda's mother's house, who received it as a gift. The family now plans to name the new pet and build a space with water for it to swim, as well as get another duck for company.

The story spread quickly on social media, generating humorous and affectionate reactions among users.
