The institutional magazine Inspire, from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom, highlighted the work of Paraguayan researcher Guillermo Zaracho Mármol, who is pursuing a doctorate focused on reducing the educational digital divide in Paraguay. The publication presents his academic and professional trajectory, as well as the concept of “digital orphans” – young people who coexist with technology but lack resources and guidance to use it effectively in learning and civic participation.

The doctoral project, supported by the David Parkin PhD Scholarship, funded by the Esther Parkin Trust, analyzes the level of digital literacy in 150 rural and suburban schools in Paraguay. The research seeks to understand how infrastructure, language, and public policies affect students' access to educational opportunities related to technology.

In statements to the magazine, Zaracho Mármol stated that his main goal is to return to Paraguay to contribute to the formulation of more inclusive educational public policies. Inspire highlighted that the academic hopes his work will strengthen digital education in the country while advancing his doctorate with an international scholarship aimed at outstanding students from the Americas.
