The Board of Directors of the Social Welfare Institute (IPS) approved, on Tuesday, the adoption of the state's electronic purchasing platform, the online store of the National Directorate of Public Procurement (DNCP). The measure, authorized during the board's regular session, allows the Supply and Logistics Department, through the Procurement Operations Directorate, to carry out all stages of acquiring institutional supplies via the electronic catalog.
The online store operates with prices previously audited and awarded by the DNCP, eliminating the time-consuming phases of traditional bidding, such as preparing bid documents, public competition, proposal evaluation, and resolving disputes. With the migration, the IPS expects to drastically reduce procurement lead times, which have historically exposed beneficiaries to critical periods of shortages.
In addition to speed, the decision seeks to enhance transparency and cost control. By purchasing supplies at standardized reference prices for the entire public sector, the IPS reduces the risks of overpricing and irregularities in contracting.
