Ipswich Town, an English club, officially announced on Monday the permanent signing of Paraguayan forward Julio Enciso, who signed a contract valid until 2031. The player, a native of Caaguazú, returns to the team where he already played on loan during the second half of the 2024-2025 season.

According to information from the British outlet The Athletic, the transfer was conducted with France's Racing de Estrasburgo for a sum close to 30 million euros. This amount sets a double record: it becomes the most expensive transfer ever paid for a Paraguayan footballer in history, surpassing the 24.5 million euros involved in Juan Manuel Iturbe's move from Hellas Verona to Roma in 2014, and also the roughly 20 million paid by Newcastle United for Miguel Almirón in 2018.

The operation also marks the most expensive signing ever made by Ipswich Town. Enciso is not unknown at the club, having played 13 matches, with 12 as a starter, during his loan period, when he arrived on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, scored two goals and provided three assists.
