A significant restructuring appears to be underway at Paraguayan technology company ITTI in Argentina. Several people identifying themselves as current employees have reported since August 25 and 26 that they were summoned to unexpected in-person meetings in Buenos Aires, where employees are apparently being offered agreements to end their employment.
The reports currently come mainly from a discussion in Argentina's r/devsarg developer community. What began as a rumor was subsequently supported by several users claiming different roles within the company. Some say they were personally summoned to meetings or have already been affected.
The development is particularly relevant to Paraguay because the restructuring may not be limited to unrelated ITTI projects. One contributor identifies himself as a software engineer working on ueno mobile, while another says he is a Tech Lead working in the banking area.
Pytagua has not been able to independently verify those individuals or their employment status. Their accounts nevertheless indicate that teams supporting products within Paraguay's financial technology ecosystem may be affected.
ITTI expanded aggressively in Argentina only a year ago
The timing is notable. ITTI officially inaugurated its new Buenos Aires headquarters on August 18, 2025, describing the move as an important step in its regional expansion strategy.
According to ITTI's own announcement, the 1,499-square-metre facility was designed for more than 250 employees. At the time, the company said approximately 850 people formed its team in Argentina.
The connection to ueno
ITTI and ueno are separate legal entities but are closely connected within the same business group. Paraguayan newspaper ABC Color has described ITTI as linked to Ueno Holding.
The relationship is also technological. ITTI develops banking systems and stated in its 2023 corporate report that its bankitti core banking platform had been successfully implemented at ueno bank.
ITTI is currently also competing for a new core banking system for Paraguay's state-owned Banco Nacional de Fomento. The procurement has a reference value of approximately Gs. 136 billion, or more than US$22 million.
The scale remains unknown
The most important unanswered question is how many positions are affected.
Numbers circulating in the Reddit discussion suggest the restructuring could be substantial, but there is currently no independently verified total. Pytagua therefore does not treat claims of more than 200 affected employees as established fact.
Several contributors say the meetings are being spread over several days through the end of the week. Applicants have also reported that recruitment processes were abruptly paused.
It also remains unclear whether the measures are limited to Argentina or form part of a broader restructuring across ITTI or the wider ueno business environment.
Pytagua contacted ITTI
Pytagua contacted ITTI on the evening of August 26 asking whether it is reducing staff in Argentina, how many positions are affected, whether other countries are included and whether the restructuring changes its strategy for the Buenos Aires technology hub.
No response had been received at the time of publication. This article will be updated if ITTI provides a statement.
Note: Reports about individual dismissals and meetings currently rely on statements made in a public developer community. Pytagua has not independently verified the identities or employment status of the people posting them. ITTI's expansion in Argentina, the size of its Buenos Aires operation and its business and technology links with ueno are documented through public sources.
