Prosecutor Amelia Bernal, from the Lambaré Penal Unit, revealed that the complaint of alleged sexual abuse against a boy, who later became a victim of filicide followed by the father's suicide, was filed on December 9, 2024. The mother accused her ex-partner, the child's biological father, of the abuse. The then interim prosecutor Laura Romero ordered the immediate referral of the victim to the Forensic Clinic, where no signs of physical or sexual violence were found.
At the Victim Care Center, the boy underwent psychological support and an initial interview, in which he hesitantly mentioned another name, unable to specify dates or facts. The mother, in turn, showed distress and contradictory behavior, even accusing the police officer who responded to the incident of abusing her son. In light of this, a psychological study was requested for the woman.
The day after the complaint, December 10, 2024, the mother tried to throw herself in front of a vehicle with her son and then climbed onto a roof, threatening to jump. A neighbor reported the incident to the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the prosecutor ordered the intervention of the director of the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (Codeni) of Lambaré. The child was rescued and handed over to a maternal aunt. The case was reported to the Lambaré Childhood Ombudsman's Office to monitor the boy's vulnerability.
The Penal Unit continued investigating the alleged abuse but was unable to conduct the child's psychological evaluation due to successive absences from scheduled interviews. The aunt told the Public Prosecutor's Office that the boy never reported to her having suffered abuse or violence. Without confirmation of the crime — medical exam ruled out injuries and signs of sexual violence, and the child did not attend the interviews — there were no elements to indict any suspect.
