Striker Robert Lewandowski announced on Saturday, May 16 that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the season. The confirmation came via an Instagram post, in which the 37-year-old player stated that he is closing a four-year cycle at the Catalan club.
“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it is time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is accomplished. Four seasons, three championships,” wrote the Pole.
Lewandowski arrived at Barcelona in 2022, coming from Bayern Munich. For the club, he played 191 matches and scored 119 goals in all competitions. In addition to the three La Liga titles, he won one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
“Barça has returned to the place it deserves. I will never forget the affection I received from the fans since the first days. Catalonia is my place in the world,” the striker added.
Lewandowski's last match wearing the Barcelona shirt will be on Sunday, May 17, against Betis, at Camp Nou, for the 37th round of the Spanish Championship. The match is scheduled for 4:15 PM (Brasília time).
