Three young people riding a motorcycle suffered a fatal accident on Avenida Los Guayabos, in the San Rafael neighborhood of Luque. The vehicle violently collided with a curb, resulting in the death of two occupants and leaving the third seriously injured.
The driver, Iván Gamaliel González Vera, 18, died at the scene. Passenger Elías Román López, 24, was rescued and taken to the General Hospital of Luque, where his death was confirmed. The sole survivor, Derlis Ramón Roa, remains hospitalized at the same hospital with multiple injuries.
Security camera footage captured the moment of impact. Preliminary information indicates that the motorcycle, a Kenton Dakar 200, was being used for the first time by the young people. It is not yet known what caused the loss of control and the fall.
The accident reportedly occurred on Monday, according to police sources. Prosecutor Augusto Ledesma has been assigned to investigate the case.
