Man who threatened grandmother and uncle with machete arrested after violating house arrest in Cambyretá

Mauro Andrés Vera González, 28, was detained again after being caught walking along the Costanera of Cambyretá, violating the house arrest he was serving for domestic violence. He had threatened his grandmother and uncle with a machete in April.

Police officers in Cambyretá arrested Mauro Andrés Vera González, 28, again on the morning of this Monday (18), after catching him calmly walking along Costanera Avenue, in clear violation of the house arrest imposed by the court.

The violation was discovered around 10:30 a.m., when police went to the man's residence on Sambódromo Street, between Florida and Eulalio Gutman, in the Valdez neighborhood, for a routine inspection. Upon finding he was not home, officers began patrolling and located him at the corner of Costanera and Juan Perrotti Street, where he was photographed and immediately detained.

Mauro Vera was facing a domestic violence case since April 15, when he was reported for physically and verbally assaulting his own grandmother and an uncle in the San Blas neighborhood, also in Cambyretá. According to the police report from that time, he was carrying a sharp object, possibly a machete, with which he allegedly threatened the family members during the attack.

After that report, the man was arrested and later granted house arrest by a court decision. Now, with the new detention, the case has been reported to the Criminal Guarantees Court for appropriate measures.

Mauro Andrés Vera González has a prior criminal record for robbery, theft, and unauthorized possession of narcotic substances.
