A tragedy shook the Santa Luísa neighborhood of Lambaré this Sunday (17). Mónica Idalia González Piazzoli, 26, and her 7-year-old son, identified by the initials Z.G.V.G., were found dead inside a rented room. Initial investigations indicate that the woman killed the boy and then committed suicide.

The body was discovered by the property owner, Mercedes Fariña, who went to the scene after receiving a call from González's partner. The man, who was traveling in the interior of the country, said he was worried because the woman was not answering calls or messages. Upon entering the residence, Fariña found the two victims and called the police.

Agents from the 4th Police Station of Lambaré and the Criminalistics unit were at the scene. The duty prosecutor, Nora Cubilla, opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the case and verify the allegations mentioned in a farewell letter attributed to González. The text, which was also reportedly published on the woman's WhatsApp status, alleges that her ex-partner and the child's biological father subjected the child to sexual abuse and mistreatment. These allegations have not been independently verified, and the prosecutor's office is still investigating their veracity.

“My heart can no longer bear so much pain, so much suffering, and seeing my son suffer. There is not a single day when he does not remember everything that disgusting man did to him […] I hope that after my death he receives justice,” reads an excerpt from the letter, according to authorities.

The prosecutor's office is investigating the veracity of the accusations and awaits expert reports to determine the sequence of events. So far, the information is based on a single news report, without independent confirmation.
