As temperatures drop across Paraguay, the Ministry of Childhood and Adolescence (MINNA) has renewed its appeal to the public to report cases of children and adolescents living on the streets, aiming to ensure immediate protection for minors exposed to the intense cold.

The institution reminded the public that the 147 hotline, known as Fono Ayuda, is available to receive reports about minors in vulnerable situations, particularly during the coldest days. The channel serves as the first point of contact for ministry teams to act swiftly.

MINNA reports that it has accredited Protection Centers and operational teams working around the clock, seven days a week, to provide care, shelter, and safety for children and adolescents at risk.

Authorities stressed that public participation is essential to enable timely interventions and prevent minors from remaining exposed to the elements or other dangerous situations. The ministry's protection system works in coordination with other state institutions to ensure a rapid and effective response to each reported case.

The public is encouraged to use the official channels available to protect the most vulnerable groups in society during the winter season.
