Pelusa Rubin Reflects on Motherhood: 'My Children Taught Me True Love'

In an interview with Última Hora, Paraguayan communicator and actress Pelusa Rubin shares her journey as a mother of four and grandmother, emphasizing the challenges and joys of balancing career and family.

Pelusa Rubin, a well-known Paraguayan communicator and actress, opened up about her experience as a mother in an interview with Última Hora. Rubin, who hosts the television program Al Estilo Pelusa, is the mother of Ezequiel (43), Emmanuel (40), Laura Camila (39), and Lucia (29). Her career began in radio in 1979, and she has since become a key figure in Paraguayan media, following in the footsteps of her father, Humberto Rubin.

Rubin noted that one of her daughters, Luchi, has followed her into journalism and recently became a mother herself. Her sons are entrepreneurs, and her other daughter, Laura, runs an interior design firm. Reflecting on balancing work and motherhood, Rubin said, “For any woman who works outside the home, it’s not easy, but we manage; we are capable of multiple roles.”

She highlighted the value of the challenge of caring for, educating, feeding, and loving her children despite any obstacles. “A mother is superpowerful in her role,” she asserted. Rubin emphasized that core values to pass on to children include honesty, perseverance in pursuing goals, empathy without judgment, and love for family.

In a previous interview with Última Hora, Rubin credited her support network—particularly her mother and her husband, singer Emilio García—for helping her balance her passion for communication with family life. Today, Rubin remains an active mother and a devoted grandmother. “My children taught me patience, to always tell the truth, and what true love is. My grandchildren are the reason for my days; I love them from a different place, calmer, without the pressure of educating or providing for them,” she said.
