The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will officially transfer the electrical grid of Costanera Sul to the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) and the ornamental lighting to the Asunción Municipality. The agreement was defined during a strategic meeting between the president of ANDE, engineer Félix Sosa; the Deputy Minister of Public Works, engineer Hugo Agustín Arce Palma; the General Director of the Social Area, engineer Andrés Alvarenga; and the Director of Administrative Services, Derlis Bobadilla.

According to Sosa, the MOPC will formalize the transfer through an official note. From this procedure, the state electricity company will assume responsibility for the medium and low voltage lines, in addition to standard ANDE public lighting, with the aim of improving safety and traffic flow for vehicles and pedestrians on Costanera Sul. The Asunción Municipality will be exclusively in charge of the ornamental lighting system, avoiding overlaps or operational gaps.

The meeting also addressed projects to reinforce public lighting in other high-traffic points of the capital. At the request of the Municipality, authorities evaluated interventions on La Victoria Avenue, between Eusebio Ayala and Fernando de la Mora, and around the Asunción Bus Terminal. Both areas were considered priorities due to the intense daily movement of pedestrians and vehicles.

As part of immediate actions, the institutions agreed on a joint technical visit to the microcenter of Asunción. Representatives from the Municipality and ANDE will inspect underground distribution points in the historic center of the capital to analyze definitive solutions for water infiltrations from buildings, which compromise the functioning of the electrical service.
