Accident in Encarnación: Driver Tests Positive for Alcohol After Collision with Injured Motorcyclist

A collision between a car and a motorcycle in downtown Encarnación left the motorcyclist injured. The car driver tested positive on the breathalyzer, with 0.663 mg/l of alcohol in exhaled air. Inspector Giovanna Vera ordered the driver's release and the seizure of the vehicles.

On Sunday morning, a traffic accident at the intersection of Avenida Irrazábal and Calle General Cabañas in Encarnación involved a Toyota Allion car and a Star SK 150cc motorcycle, model year 2025. The car driver, Lourdes Graciela Colman Adamy, a resident of Encarnación, was unharmed. The motorcyclist, Elvio Alexis Acosta, suffered injuries and was rescued by the Volunteer Fire Department, being taken to the Hospital General de Itapúa for medical care.

Officers from the 4th Police Station responded to the incident after a phone report. At the scene, Municipal Traffic agents conducted a breathalyzer test (Alcotest) on the driver, which returned positive, with 0.663 mg/l of alcohol in exhaled air. The duty inspector, Giovanna Vera, was notified and ordered the driver's release, while both vehicles were seized and taken to the municipal impound lot of Encarnación for legal proceedings.
