The 27th edition of the National Prayer Marathon takes place this weekend, August 21 and 22, at the CONMEBOL SUMA Complex in Luque. The event, which lasts 24 uninterrupted hours, invites faithful from across the country to join in continuous prayer for Paraguay's needs.
The marathon will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and extend until 7 p.m. on Saturday, with live streaming on Facebook and YouTube to allow virtual participation. A QR code is available for submitting prayer requests.
The initiative is organized by Fundación Jesús Responde, with support from the Association of Evangelical Churches of Paraguay (Asiep) and the Association of Evangelical Pastors of Paraguay (Apep), as well as other churches and Christian organizations.
Prayer moments will be divided into thematic blocks, including intercessions for each of the country's 17 departments, as well as themes such as health, education, economy, security, government, children, youth, indigenous peoples, and vulnerable populations. There will also be prayer for global conflicts, such as those in the Middle East.
The National Prayer Marathon was first held in 1999, during the severe political crisis known as the Paraguayan March, when faithful united to pray for the country. Since then, it has become an annual event. This year's theme is "Called to Victory".
In addition to the central event in Luque, similar gatherings are also scheduled in several cities in the Paraguayan interior.
